Threats After the Great Carefree Era

The Baroque buildings in Fulda are well worth a detour from the highway but, unfortunately, it was not the castle or cathedral that put the small town in Hessen on the world map; it ended up there because of ’The Fulda Gap’ – a number of passes in the hilly countryside, only a short distance from the border between the two German states.
